Diamond K was founded in 1970 by Bruce King. Bruce began his pipeline career in 1946 as a welders helper in the Talco Oil Field, progressing, in his four years there, up the chain to welder. From 1946 through 1969 he worked as a welder, foreman, superintendent, inspector , or consultant for Pacific Engineering, Bechtel, Eastern, R.H. Fulton, Williams Brothers, Trunkline Gas, Harbert, Somerville, C.S. Lenoir, Morrison and finished his career working for Diamond S/Panama Shiflett. Working for these companies took him to nearly every continental state. After 24 years of working for other companies Bruce organized Diamond K. Diamond K diversified over the years into general , utility, pipeline and highway construction.
TIMELINE
1970- Diamond K was organized primarily for the purpose of constructing commercial and agriculture projects
1981- R&K was organized for pipeline, auger boring and utility construction
1985- Diamond K expanded into highway construction
1989- Diamond K was chosen by Pilgrims Pride as the construction manager to oversee in excess of $200 million worth of projects in Central Mexico.
1992- As a result of Hurricane Andrew and at the request of a major client Diamond K expanded into storm reconstruction work in South Florida.
2000- Diamond K expanded into Horizontal Directional Drilling
2001- Diamond K was chosen by the MPISD as the construction manager for a $50 plus million dollar school project.
2008- Diamond K was chosen by Chesapeake to construct a multi million dollar natural gas pipeline in the Heber Springs area of Arkansas
2009- Diamond K was chosen by New Mexico Gas to construct a multi million natural gas pipeline outside Santa Fe, New Mexico
2010- Diamond K was chosen by Seacoast to construct a multi million natural gas pipeline outside of Jacksonville, Florida
2011- King Murray operating was formed to operate the terminals and pipelines owned by Florida Power & Light
2012- Diamond K along with its partner CYMI Industrial was chosen by FPL to construct a multi million dollar pipeline project from the Martin Power Plant into Riviera Beach Florida.
2016- Diamond K merged its oil & gas construction operations into its sister company King-Murray Operating, LLC
